Earl, a 37 year old living in the Germantown neighborhood of Philadelphia and working in suburban Philadelphia, was just going for the ride to a cook training for hospital cooks. Although outwardly calm, the training was taking place just three days before his wedding, so he wasn’t focused on all that he would learn. At the training, three professional chefs worked with whole, fresh and organic foods, teaching cooks from five hospitals about soy sauce, soba and rice noodles, tofu, and whole vegetables that weren’t on Earl's personal shopping list. “I used to just walk by those products at the supermarket and think they were just for vegetarians. Now, I’ll be buying them for my home, too, so that we can eat healthy.”
